The parish of  Vimalagiri, is in the Archdiocese of Tellicherry. The Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI)  Congregation started a parish on the directive from Mar Sebastian Vallopilly, the then bishop of Tellicherry.  After a few years of parish service it was turned over to the Archdiocese of Tellicherry.

Upon receiving the request from the CMI fathers, the Nazareth sisters started a convent at Vimalagiri, parappa on 19th March 1985. They regularly visit the families engaged in literacy services and other charitable activities.
