The convent was founded on 28th July 2003 at Manikadavu.  It was the 25th house of Nazareth Sisters. Manikadavu is located nearby Nuchiyadu, which is in Thaliparambu Taluk of Kannur district. Manikadavu church is in the Nellikkampoil Forane Church limit of the Archdiocese of Tellicherry. There are 1250 families under the parish church. This hilly area has a developed infrastructure.

            The sisters in the parish focus on healing ministry and run an Ayurvedic dispensary to serve the people. The Sisters offer their services in various fields like teaching and running pre-primary schools, parish ministry and Family apostolate etc.
